"Cake"

In these poems, I explore domestic personal and mythic narratives of family and femininity; the excavation of tenderness and meaning from violence; the way physical landscapes become imbued with characteristics of emotional landscapes of desire, grief, love, loss, and hope; and, in spite of darkness, the salvageable sweetness of body and spirit made possible through the project of language.
