Abstract
Public health is the sum of public safety, the prevention of injury and disease, and medical treatment. The thesis includes a technical project report that contributes to state-of-the art medical treatment, specifically, the research and design of a primarily soft exosuit with a textile cable actuator. Additionally, the thesis examines the divisive sociotechnical controversy regarding the gun control stalemate in the United States as it relates to public safety and injury prevention.
