Abstract:

"A Dialogue of Power" is the history of a global effort to redefine the concept of socioeconomic development during the 1970s. It traces the emergence of a transnational network of social scientists, civil servants, and activists who envisioned "development" both as a pathway to economic progress and as a tool for social justice.
