Abstract
The purpose of this thesis has been three fold: (1) to evaluate the physical environment of Gordonsville and select for further study, those elements which have the greatest influence; (2) to study the relationship between those elements and the growth of the town; and, (3) to determine from this study whether a closer working relationship, between the town and its environment, is needed in the future.
