Abstract
This project explores both the economic causes that 'created' the hobo and the subsequent hobo subculture that grew out of his marginalized social existence. The hobo's birth, growth, and demise are laid out using images, excerpts from contemporary literature, and social studies.
Originally published on the XRoads site for the UVA American Studies program. Years range from 1995-2005. Content is captured at the level of functionality available on the date of capture.
