Abstract:
In this essay, the author proposes to examine the impact of the Great Depression in Virginia from its beginning in 1929 through 1934 when general recovery was achieved. The author suggests that the depression had less impact on the State than on other parts of the country and that Virginians had less of an adjustment to make in adapting to the new conditions.
