Abstract
It is the purpose of this thesis to trace the growth of a new movement to provide for the outdoor recreational needs of the nation with detailed emphasis begin placed on the Shenandoah Park Project in Virginia. The first major division deals with the rise of Conservation and its development gradually into the park phase with which we are primarily interested. The second part of the thesis is concerned entirely with the recent contribution of Virginia to the Conservation resources nation….The Shenandoah National Park.
