Abstract:
A neglected field of inquiry in Russian literature is women's literature, and this study is a response to the question raised by feminists of what it means when a Russian woman writer who was esteemed in her own lifetime is later cast into oblivion. Though it may seem fanatical, or pedantic, to dig up a disregarded woman poet, knowledge of Anna Bunina's work could make a significant difference in breaking the sustained belief of the inferiority of Russian women writers.
