Abstract:

This report describes the final design of a mechanical shutter for the millimeter-wave kinetic inductance detector camera telescope, SKIPR, as part of a collaborative project with the California institute of Technology, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Arizona State University, Princeton University, the University of Pennsylvania, and the University of Virginia. This shutter consists of two plates that are frames in 80/20 aluminum extrusions. These frames slide along two rails to obscure the telescope sensor when in place, but can be moved out of the way for clear observing.
