Abstract:
Capsular contracture around soft tissue breast implants is an undesired development for surgeons and patients after augmentation mammaplasty. An obstacle associated with this problem is the lack of an objective measurement technique for the laboratory investigation of this phenomena. An objective, noninvasive technique for the evaluation of capsular contracture using MR and CT images is offered and described.
