Abstract:
Blood-Letting is a poetry collection that explores the speaker's Chinese-Indonesian heritage from a position of distance and retrospect. The poems detail the larger context of discriminatory rhetoric and policies in the socio-political landscape of Indonesia, all of which are juxtaposed against the speaker's relationship with their family and the beloved. The second half of the collection is composed of a series of docupoems revolving around the 1965 massacre in Indonesia.
