The Making of Books and the Making of Robert Frost

Abstract:

Robert Frost’s career and work revolve around books in a range of ways: the business of selling books, the book as a creative grouping of individual poems, the book as a craft and artwork, and books as witnesses to the writer’s work and thus the basis of textual criticism and editing. When telling the story of Frost’s life and outlining his body of poetry, the published books often serve as milestones, from his creatively-titled books of new poetry such as A Boy’s Will, North of Boston, and New Hampshire, to the compilations in his Collected Poems.
