Abstract:
Dharmapāla (530-561?) of Nalanda University in India occupies a place in one of the three lines of transmission of the Yogacara school founded by Maitreya, Asanga and Vasubandhu. Dharmapāla has been rather disparagingly called an "Idealist and a "poet", but not very much has been written about his thought in an objective and systematic manner. If we would like to know more about the "Yogacara School" in India and the foundations of the Fà-xiāng school in China, then Dharmapāla deserves objective treatment. One step in this direction would be a complete translation of Dharmapāla's Commentary on the Mahayana Catuhsataka-sāstra. I present here a translation of the tenth and last chapter.
