Abstract
This thesis will deal with the area of Garland Hill in Lynchburg mainly from an architectural point of view, attempting primarily to show how and why the neighborhood developed as it did. Also, an effort will be made to relate the area and its architectural development to trends and currents coeval in the nation as a whole.
