Abstract
Advances in computer technology have provided scenic designers with the use of digital modeling in addition to traditional physical models. The purpose of this study is to examine the preference, efficiency and effectiveness of those models between scenic designers and directors. Participants in the study were directors from the University of Virginia and working directors. Data was collected via survey or interview. The findings concluded that due to strengths and weaknesses of each type of model, receiving both types was preferred.
