Supernova remnants (SNRs) and HII regions are plasma structures, which means that their magnetic fields should be important to asset their dynamic and evolutionary processes. In this paper, the populations of the characteristic rotation measure (RMchar) values between HII regions and supernova remnants were explored. They were tested to see if they are significantly similar at a p-value of 0.05. The null hypothesis is H0: µ1 = µ2, while the alternative hypothesis is Ha: µ1 ≠ µ2. First, catalogs of the HII regions and SNRs were matched with the RM value catalogs. Then, a version of a one-way ANOVA test for two populations was conducted. Populations at d < rneb compared with rneb < d < 2rneb of HII regions were tested to be significantly similar populations with a p-value of 0.668. Populations at d < rneb compared with rneb < d < 2rneb of SNRs were tested to be significantly similar populations with a p-value of 0.586. At d < rneb of HII regions compared with d < rneb of SNRs, were tested to be significantly similar populations with a p-value of 0.124. As for populations at rneb < d < 2rneb of HII regions compared with rneb < d < 2rneb of SNRs, were tested to be significantly similar populations with a p-value of 0.916. Therefore, I failed to reject the null hypothesis.
