Abstract
My technical work and STS research are connected through their focus on the relationship between users and their data systems. Users interact with data in a variety of ways and both of my projects required examining these interactions and the motivations behind them. However, they differ in the styles of analysis as well as the structure of the involved data systems. My technical work focused on building a data visualization system that centralized user reported data into easily understandable dashboards and reports. On the other hand, the STS research analyzed the impact of different social groups in the resolution of a hack of Ethereum, a decentralized cryptocurrency.
