Abstract:

Summary:

The study investigates the role of knowledge of results in a programed learning situation, using the published programed text, The Analysis of Behavior, Part I The study seeks (1) to ascertain the differential effects of varying the condition of knowledge of results (independent variable) in the programed learning of certain selected concepts, as measured by immediate achievement (dependent variable no. 1); (2) to determine the differential effects of varying knowledge of results in the programed learning of the selected concepts, as measured by a comparison of retention (dependent variable no. 2); and (3) to determine the relationship that exists between measured intelligence and the schedule of knowledge of results, as measured by both immediate achievement and retention.
