Abstract:
The body of this master's thesis exists as a hypertext document. It has been translated into HTML format and can be viewed by any internet browser, although it is specifically designed for use with Netscape 2.0 or better. The "TEXTONLY" segment of this project consists of an edited version of the 1751 edition of The Life of Harriot Stuart and an accompanying introduction. The "HYPTERTEXT" version includes illustrations and supplementary materials on the culture and geography of the novel.
