Abstract:
A collection of poems invested in playing with and disrupting form, taking cues from formally trained artists/academics, such as Cy Twombly and Roland Barthes, self-taught artists, including Howard Finster and Nellie Mae Rowe, and spiritual visionaries, ranging from Julian of Norwich to Bob Kaufman. How might unlearning expertise put one back in touch with the mystical and the visionary? Is it possible to say something perfect using imperfect tools? And why would one want to do that anyway?
