Abstract:
It is the purpose of this paper to examine into the movement of the Negro population in large numbers from country to city within recent years and its causes. To see this movement in its broader aspect it is necessary to treat of it in its setting as part of a general shifting of population, for only when its relationship to the whole is considered can there be any constructive treatment of the effects which it will give rise to. To indicate the trend of home ownership among Negroes is the purpose of the last chapter of this paper.
